2011 Jax Beach Haiti

Some T-Shirt designs to help people remeber their time in Haiti.
Whether I am building, welding, painting, or designing when I create I feel God's pleasure.
There is no greater joy than to learn to be like the FATHER; everyday he gives forth blessing to all his creation
and as his children we feel his pleasure when we use the gifts he has given us to bless others.

Artist Working Together

Each Artist has his or her own special touch that makes them unique. Working together with Bill Cass has been a real rewarding experience. His many years of illustrating and designing have brought him and his family to a time of new beginnings and experimentation. As our friendship grew we have enjoyed learning about each others tools and tricks of the trade. Bill is both gifted as an artist but also as a teacher. He has a real knack for encouraging and inspiring others to take the leaps they need to take to take themselves to new levels. This time it was my joy to work with Bill and let his creative gifting express them selves in the world of metal. First with a paint brush then with a plasma torch Bill unleashed his gifting creating this one of a kind masterpiece fire pit.

Custom Bathroom Mirrors

I came to Whidbey Island while working with Bill Criswell and Impact Teams International. Then we where rebuilding homes in Honduras and planting new vineyards in Afghanistan. But today I have the privilege of working with Bill and Ben (Father & Son) and their Company Eagle Building. This project was really fun building custom mirrors, towel racks and applying an old style patina called oiled bronze to these and a few other metal highlights through out their latest custom built home.

Fire Pits

From SunRise the Dragon to Star Chaser my airplane my best work comes from changing old scrap iron into Art. Functional decretive art. Even the popular FireFly yard art starts with used, old parts and God helps me see new life in the old.

Now there is a push to bring a new line of functional art that brings everyone together for a time with Family and Friends. Green fire pits. Made of recycled parts, and vented from the bottom to get the most heat with least amount of smoke.

Each hand made pit has some decorative designs attached or cut out of the sides to add a fun personal feel.
Stock is first come first pick unless you order ahead. And because the material for the pit comes from used tanks,
 supply depends upon available tanks.

Christmas With A Personal Touch

What to give the person that has everything or the one than that has nothing but makes both feel special?
This year I made up name plates. But each name came with some image that fit the person's personality.
Stalk images with one name $75. Customer images have to be set up for the machine cutting so there will be an additional minimum charge of $50. More complex images or custom image design is based on an hourly rate of $50 hr. Normal size is 8"x 16", larger sizes will be prorated.

Once Upon a Time

Another new comer to Langley "Once upon a Time" is a Doll shop extraordinaire. Thirty years of dreams come true and I had the chance to help in that dream with a little touch of childhood beauty, a dab of technology, and a handful of craftsmanship.

Nymbol's Secret Garden

New to Langley, Nymbol's Secret Garden is a place of fun and fantasy.  To introduce you to this world of imagination owner and professional illustrator Bill Cass brought his own designs and lettering to the cutting table. Together we were able to bring his imagination to metal and bring the store front to life. Bill and His wife Sam are also selling some of my metal creations. So if your in Langley stop in and see them at 101 1st Street, Langley, Wa., say hello and buy some of my stuff (: And if you haven't yet stopped in and seen me they will gladly give you directions.

La Casita Mexican Restaurant Langley, Wa

Bringing the flavors of Mexico is more than just the flavor of tortillas and chilies it's the sights as well as the sound. This family has brought Mexico with them and as a time honored symbol of the flavor of Mexico they chose the Mariachi player. With our CNC Plasma cutter we took their logo and made it into this life size expression of the Flavor of Mexico.

Old and New Coming Together

Suzanne & Louise have been transforming their property into a garden Paradise. They love the thought of recycling old metal (one of my favorite things to do) and bringing it back to life. With a current sculpture leading the way we harmonized creating a gate that keeps Harley (their dog) in but still leave an open invitation for all to enter in.

Hand Rail for Michael Mann

Michael Mann need a hand rail that matched the unique multifaceted decor of her house. With a collect of antique door plats and knobs, parts of several old antique handrails we put together this every elegant handrail. Appetite for the imagination.

Fine Art

Having grown up reading the likes of George MacDonald, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkien, and Anne McCaffrey. John’s art has a leaning for the fanciful and the whimsical. John has come to desire that his art be a steppingstone to encourage the wonder of imagination in others.

About John R. Moritz

John R. Moritz, born in 1964, grew up in Paradise, California, a small town in the foothills of the Sierra Nevadas. At a very early age he was recognized for his love and his gifting in artistic expression. Growing up he worked alongside his dad in a small family owned welding shop.

Having committed his heart and  life to following Jesus Christ, he spent most of his thirties doing humanitarian work in Ukraine, Bosnia, Fiji, Honduras, Afghanistan, and Pakistan.

Now having settled on Whidbey Island he is returning to his roots expressing his love and obedience to his God by managing a Christian men’s discipleship house and opening a small artisan metal shop.
